Methodology
Calculated by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis from the 5-year and 10-year breakeven inflation rates: the inflation rate over years six to ten implied by the two, in percent a year. Central banks watch it because it looks past the next few years' shocks. It carries the same inflation risk and liquidity premiums as the breakeven rates it is built from. Values exist for trading days only; days without a value are never filled. CK Economics shows it as published, with no signal.
