Terms

Terms of Use

Our research and data are free to read and reuse with credit. They are information, not advice.

Effective October 12, 2026

These terms set the conditions for using and reusing this website and its articles, reports, datasets, charts, and data downloads (together, the “content”). If you download or reuse our content, you accept them. The site is run by Evan J. Conkling and Oliver F. Kopcik, doing business as Conkling & Kopcik Economics (“CK Economics”, “we”, “us”).

Not investment, financial, or legal advice

The content is general economic research, published for information only. It is not investment, financial, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or to make any business decision. Nothing on the site creates an advisory or client relationship. Get advice from a qualified professional before acting on anything you read here.

Forecasts and accuracy

Projections and forecasts are our estimates. They rest on assumptions and models that may prove wrong, and actual results can differ materially. Data from outside sources comes from those sources, processed as each dataset’s methodology describes; the sources may revise it, and we may make mistakes in collecting or processing it. We correct errors when we find them, as our corrections policy describes, but we do not promise that any content is complete, accurate, or current.

Reusing our content

Unless marked otherwise, the text, charts, calculations, and projections we create are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0): you may share and adapt them, including commercially, if you credit “Conkling & Kopcik Economics”, link to the page you used, and say if you changed anything. Don’t suggest that we endorse you or your use.

The licence does not cover our name or logo beyond that credit, data from other organisations, quotations, or any photo, video, or other material credited to someone else. Data from other organisations remains subject to their own terms; check the original source cited on each dataset page.

Please don’t overload the site or its data download addresses with automated requests, or try to get into parts of the site that aren’t public.

Funding and independence

If an article or report was commissioned or paid for by someone else, or if we or our founders have a financial or client relationship with an organisation it covers, it says so at the top.

Other websites and embedded content

The site links to, and embeds videos and images from, websites we don’t control. We aren’t responsible for their content or their privacy practices. See our Privacy Policy.

Copyright concerns

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email econkling@ckeconomics.com with the work concerned, where it appears on the site, and how to reach you. We will review it promptly and remove or credit material as appropriate.

No warranty

The site and content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or investment, arising from your use of or reliance on the site or content, even if we were told such losses were possible. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or violation of law, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes and severability

We may update these terms. Changes apply from the date shown at the top and do not affect reuse or disputes that began earlier. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
