Files

  • Every partner and port, every month: imports and exports, with the vessel, air and containerised parts of value and shipping weight. Gzipped.

  • Every partner’s national total, every month: imports, exports, total trade and balance, whatever the port. Gzipped.

  • Every column of the four files: definition, unit and the Census field it comes from.

  • Totals that changed between releases, by partner and by port, with the old and new value and the release day.

UTF-8 CSV with a header row. Port codes keep their leading zeros: open the files as text, or import the code columns as text in a spreadsheet. An empty cell is a figure Census did not report, which is not zero. A direction with no row at a port that has one for the other is 0, and a partner and port with no row at all traded nothing that month. Values are U.S. dollars and weights kilograms. How missing values are handled.

Filtered downloads

Each ranking table on the trade pages has a CSV download of exactly the rows visible with the filters applied. These files are the unfiltered history.

Commodity detail

HS-level bulk data is not provided here. Census’s USA Trade Online offers commodity detail by country and port for download. Product tables on port and country pages are queried live from Census.

Revisions

No published month has been revised since collection began.

A country or port page says “Revised on [date]” when the latest release moved a displayed figure by more than 1%. How revisions are handled.
